We studied the clinical effectiveness of a new macrolide antibiotic Rok tamycin on 30 patients with respiratory infections. Rokitamycin was administered in an oral daily dose of 600mg, divided into equal pasts, according to the results of preclinical and open clinical studies of the drugs.
Overall therapeutic -efficacy of -86.6% was achieved with Rokitamycin in treating the patients with respiratory tract infections, without any hematologic or laboratory abnormalities. Skin eruption occured in one patient of the Rokitamycin treated patients.
The results demonstrated that Rokitamycin was useful in treating respiratory tract infections such as mild to moderate acute bronchitis or pneumonia.
